Houser wins VEWL championship

Joey Houser of Lehighton captured first place in the 60-pound weight class at the Valley Elementary Wrestling League (VEWL) varsity championships on Feb. 10. Houser wrestles for the Lehighton Athletic Booster Club team. He went 5-0 in the tournament, recording a pin, two major decisions and two decisions. He did not allow a point in any of his five matches. Houser finished with a 20-1 record in the VEWL this season and was 36-7 overall.
