Hundreds want to address gerrymandering in the state
Hundreds of people from across the state gathered at the Capitol building in Harrisburg last Monday to speak against the practice of gerrymandering of the state’s political districts.
The organizers of the rally were volunteers with Fair Districts PA.
“It was a terrific experience, seeing so many people of both parties, working together to bring honesty to Pennsylvania government,” said Linda Zak, a member of Fair Districts PA.
House bill 722 and Senate bill 22 proposed that an independent committee of citizens should draw district lines; this would take away the power of self-interested politicians, and give the power to the people.
