Incidents reported at SCI Frackville

State police at Frackville reported investigating several PREA (Prison Rape Elimination Act) violations at the state correctional institution at Frackville, Altamont Boulevard, Ryan Township.

On Nov. 4, 2019, about 11:50 p.m. a 42-year-old inmate alleged he was raped in his cell by his cellmate.

On Dec. 19, 2019, at about 9 a.m. a 55-year-old inmate alleged that a corrections officer made sexual statements toward him. On the same date and time a 29-year-old inmate made the same allegation about a corrections officer.

On Dec. 23, 2019, about 11:59 p.m. a 49-year-old inmate alleged that a corrections officer raped him during an escort from the yard to his cell.

On Jan. 8 about 9:47 p.m. a 36-year-old inmate alleged that a corrections officer called him a sexually offensive name. Also on Jan. 8 about 9:44 p.m. a 60-year-old inmate alleged a corrections officer made sexual statements toward him.

Troopers did not release any other details concerning these investigations.
