Incidents at state prison investigated

State police at Frackville reported investigating two incidents a the state correctional institution at Mahanoy, Mahanoy Township, Schuylkill County.

Troopers said on Jan. 1 about 8 p.m. troopers investigated an aggravated indecent assault incident alleged to have occurred multiple times between Dec. 13, 2019, and Jan. 1. The investigation is continuing.

Troopers are investigating a drug possession incident reported on Dec. 8, 2019. Troopers said a controlled substance was passed from a visitor at the prison to an inmate in the visiting room. The investigation is ongoing.
