Injuries are averted in Interstate 80 crash
A Wilkes-Barre woman escaped injuries in a one-vehicle crash at 10:26 p.m. Feb. 23 on Interstate 80 in Tunkhannock Township.
State police at the Fern Ridge barracks said Maria Bautista, 51, was driving a 1998 Ford Explorer eastbound when she lost control of the vehicle on the icy roadway. The Explorer began to spin, left the roadway and traveled down the right side of an embankment, striking a tree before coming to rest at the bottom of the hill.
