Jailed ex-casino exec accused of rigging Easter egg contest

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. (AP) — A former Pennsylvania casino executive already serving a prison sentence in a money laundering case has been charged with conspiring to rig a $10,000 Easter egg drawing almost four years ago.

Fifty-two-year-old Robert Pellegrini, former vice president of player development at Mohegan Sun Casino, is charged with theft, receiving stolen property and conspiracy.
Prosecutors in Luzerne County allege that he and two other former employees conspired with another man to rig selection of the April 2014 sweepstakes.
Pellegrini was sentenced in August to more than 2½ years in prison in a scheme that authorities said defrauded the casino of more than $420,000.
The county public defender's office, listed in court documents as representing Pellegrini on the new charges, didn't immediately return a call seeking comment Tuesday.
