Jim Thorpe American Legion hosts Memorial Day services
The Jim Thorpe American Legion Post 304 has announced its schedule for Memorial Day services Sunday and Monday.
Sunday
8 a.m.: Legionnaires meet at the Legion Post.
8:30 a.m.: Vietnam Monument (on Broadway across from Immaculate Conception), place memorial wreath, prayer, salute and taps.
8:50 a.m.: Civil War/WW II Monument (on Hazard Square at the Court House), place memorial wreath, prayer, salute and taps.
9:05 a.m.: Korean War Monument (at Diligence Fire Company), place memorial wreath, prayer, salute and taps.
9:20 a.m.: Liberties Monument (on the Liberties Hill), place memorial wreath, prayer, salute and taps.
9:35 a.m.: Route 903 Bridge, memorial wreath placed in river in remembrance of those who died at sea, prayer salute and taps.
10 a.m.: Christman’s Cemetery (on Church Road), Invocation, Flanders Field, remarks, Gettysburg Address, benediction, salute and taps.
10:30 a.m.: Henning Cemetery (Old Stage Road), prayer, salute and taps.
11 a.m.: Hickory Run State Park Cemetery (across from the main office), prayer, salute and taps.
11:15 a.m.: St. Paul’s Church (Albrightsville), Invocation, recital of Flanders Field, remarks, Gettysburg Address, benediction, salute and taps.
12 p.m.: WWI Monument (JT Memorial Park), place memorial wreath, prayer, salute and taps.
12:15 p.m.: World War II Monument (Fairview Hose Company), place memorial wreath, prayer, salute and taps.
