Summer lunch program
The Jim Thorpe summer children/family lunch program (a nonprofit organization, not school-affiliated) will be held Monday through July 26. It will be held at the Masonic Lodge Social Hall, Fifth and Center Street. The cost is free and the times are 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., no exceptions please. All children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult, and no smoking is permitted on the premises.
Vacation Bible School
St. John’s Lutheran Church, 319 South Ave., will host a communitywide Vacation Bible School for children preschool to sixth grade. The school will be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. To register or for more information, call 570-325-3391 or visit stjohnsvbs@yahoo.com.
Joint reunion
Members of the Jim Thorpe Area High School classes of 1993 and 1994 will hold a joint reunion weekend from Aug. 9 through Aug. 11. You need not attend all of the events scheduled. Responses are due by July 1 to Heather Brown Shapiro, 180 Mill Run Drive, Lehighton, PA 18235.
