Jim Thorpe School Board

Jim Thorpe Area School Board approved the following:

• A request for a field trip for the Spanish class to Puerto Rico in summer of 2018, contingent upon recovery from Hurricane Maria, was approved. Students will be responsible to provide their own funding for the trip.

• A revised Professional Services Agreement for educational consultant Dr. Jeffrey Nietz was approved at a rate of $40 per hour, for a maximum amount of 400 hours per year.

• Sandra Michalik was approved for a position as director of special education, for a prorated salary of $87,000.

• Deb Gehris was approved for a position as a long-term paraprofessional at the rate of $12 per hour.

• Jennifer Butchko was approved for a position as an instruction resource teacher for $685.
