Jim Thorpe woman charged with possession of marijuana

A Jim Thorpe woman has been charged with possession of marijuana.

According to the affidavit of probable cause filed by officer Adam Shimer of the Palmerton Borough Police Department:

On March 31, Shimer was dispatched by the Carbon County 911 Center to the 600 block of West Princeton Avenue to assist EMS with a mental health call.

While interviewing the woman, identified as Danyelle Johannsen, 23, Shimer saw a hypodermic needle, two clear baggies with white residue and a baggie with marijuana on the floor.

Johannsen admitted to having previously consumed the marijuana.

Johannsen faces charges of possession of small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, and is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing May 22 before District Judge William Kissner of Palmerton.
