Joyce earns player of the week honors at LCCC

Jim Thorpe graduate Derek Joyce recently was named the Lehigh Carbon Community College Athlete of the Week.

Joyce went 5-for-7 (.714) with a double, walk and two RBIs in a doubleheader against Sussex County Community College on Sunday, March 24.

The Cougars picked up a 12-7 win over Union County Community Collge in their home openeron Monday. Trevor Schreiner (Northwestern) had two hits in the victory as LCCC improved to 7-4 overall.

Lehigh Carbon Community College is back in action on Friday when the team travels to Mercer County CC for a 2 p.m. doubleheader.
