Kelayres man charged in suspected drug death
One man is dead and another man has been arrested and jailed on drug charges following an incident in Schuylkill County last week.
State police at Frackville said around 6 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day, troopers responded to a home on Fourth Street in Kelayres, Kline Township, for a death investigation.
On scene, troopers found a 42-year-old man dead of an apparent drug overdose.
A search warrant was executed on the residence and 10 bundles of suspected heroin (106 bags), a small amount of suspected methamphetamine and numerous drug paraphernalia were found.
Troopers said as a result, Salvadore Craig, 44, of Kelayres, was taken into custody.
He was charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was arraigned by on-call District Judge David Rossi, of Tremont, and committed to the county prison in Pottsville, after failing to post $20,000 straight cash bail.
The investigation into the death of the man, whose name is being withheld at this time, is continuing, troopers said.
