  • Empty

A fire on Friday morning in Kidder Township heavily damaged a house. The fire was first reported as smoke in a dwelling at 8 Pinchot Trail along Route 940 about a mile east of the turnpike. When fire fighters from Carbon and Luzerne counties arrived on the scene, they reported the house to be fully engulfed. The family managed to escape the flames. Due to the remote location, water had to be tanked into the site. Fire police maintained traffic control at the scene reducing Route 940 to one alternating lane.
