Kidder Township reorganizes for 2019

The Kidder Township Board of Supervisors met on Monday evening to reorganize for the new year. The appointments remained much the same as the previous year.

Thomas Bradley Jr. will continue as chairman with Thomas LaFond once again serving as vice chairman. LaFond will also continue as chairman for the police.

Supervisor Bruce Berger will continue as roadmaster. The board recommended that elected auditors set the roadmaster’s compensation at $10 per hour.

Township secretary Suzanne Brooks was appointed as board secretary and township treasurer. Township Manager Lisa Klem will serve as alternate secretary and treasurer as well as the township’s Right-To-Know officer. Klem is also the chief administrative officer for the township’s pension funds.

Daniel Miscavige of Gillespie Miscavige will continue to serve as legal counsel to the township supervisors and to the Planning Commission.

Robert Dobash was appointed Kidder Township building/code enforcement officer. Building Inspection Underwriters of PA Inc. was appointed the alternate construction code official. Dobash will also serve as the township’s zoning officer.

William Brior will serve as the township’s sewage enforcement officer. Samantha Brior will serve as the alternate.

Arro Engineering and Environmental Consultants were appointed to serve as township and planning commission engineer.

Karen Rushatz was appointed as chairwoman of the Vacancy Board.

The elected auditors are Elizabeth Lennon with a term to end on Dec. 31, 2021, and Roy Lamberson with a term to end on Dec. 31, 2023. Barry Snitzer was appointed to fill an unexpired term. Snitzer’s term will end on Dec. 31, 2019.

Berkheimer was appointed to collect all local enabling taxes.

Christine Lindsey was appointed secretary to the Zoning Hearing Board and as alternate Right-To-Know officer.

Cindy Norato was appointed as alternate zoning Officer and as the administrator to the Planning Commission.

Jim Boyle was appoint to the Planning Commission with a term to expire on Dec. 31 2022. Pete Ginopolas was appointed to the Zoning Hearing Board for a term ending on Dec. 31, 2023. Ed O’Melia was appointed to the Environmental Advisory Council with a term to expire on Dec. 31, 2022.

A motion was passed appointing all supervisors as delegates to the State Association of Township Supervisors. LaFond was appointed as voting delegate. Franzosa was appointed alternate voting delegate.

Klem was appointed voting delegate for the Carbon County Tax Collection Committee, with Brookes as alternate voting delegate. Dobash will serve as voting delegate to the Carbon County Council of Governments. Franzosa will serve as the alternate voting delegate.

Franzosa will also serve as the board’s liaison to the Planning Commission, the Zoning Hearing Board and the Environmental Advisory Committee.

LaFond will continue as the board’s representative to the Dimmick library.

The township supervisors will continue to hold monthly meetings at 6:30 p.m. on the third Thursday of every month.
