Kids Closet Sale gears up for fall-winter event

The Kids Closet Sale at Penn’s Peak, hosted by the Times News and Lehigh Valley Press, is gearing up for the fall-winter sale later this month.

The sale will take place Sept. 24 through 26 at Penn’s Peak in Jim Thorpe. The event will hold a private presale for consignors, new moms and workers Sept. 24 with the public sale taking place beginning at 9 a.m. Sept. 25 and the half price sale on most items from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sept. 26.

“It’s going to be a big sale,” Jennifer Benninger, advertising director at the Times News, said. “There will be plenty of items for all sizes, lots of toys and other items.”

For this sale, Benninger noted that the committee made some changes to help make the process a little more consignor friendly when it comes to dropping off items.

“We are trying to make this as streamlined as possible,” she said.

Consignors can sell all things children, from toys to clothing from newborn to size large juniors, and everything in between; as well as household décor items and even maternity clothing.

Items that are not sold during the sale can then either be taken back by the consignor on the pickup day or donated to one of the various nonprofit organizations the Times News is partnering with.

If you want to become a consignor, there is still time to do so.

The deadline to sign up, as well as enter items into the sale, is noon on Sept. 22.

On drop-off day on Sept. 23, consignors will see larger signs and maps on where items should go and will also get a special treat once they sign out of the drop off.
