Kratzer named to CLBBCA’s First Team
Palmerton’s Kyle Kratzer was a unanimous selection to the Colonial League Boys Basketball Coaches Association’s All-League First Team.
Kratzer, a junior, is averaging 21.0 points per game this season and helped lead the Blue Bombers to a 16-6 regular-season record and berths in the league and district playoffs.
His teammate, Justin Hosier, was named to the league’s Second Team. Hosier, who topped 1,000 points and 500 rebounds in his senior year, is averaging 18.4 ppg.
Also named to the Second Team was Northern Lehigh’s Zach Moyer. A senior, Moyer led the Bulldogs in scoring at 15.3 ppg and was his team’s leading scorer in 17 of their 22 games.
Other area players named to the Honorable Mention squad included Northwestern’s Luke Hallman and Nick Henry.
Moravian Academy’s Abe Atiyeh was voted as the league’s MVP.
The Colonial League Boys Basketball coaches formed the CLBBCA to recognize the league’s best players after the Colonial League voted to abolish the selection of All-League honors.
