A Kunkletown man has been charged with over 20 counts of child pornography.

According to the affidavit of probable cause filed by trooper Anthony Reppert of the Pennsylvania State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation:

Between June 23 and Dec. 31, 2018, 10 CyberTipLine reports were generated and reported an IP address uploaded files depicting the sexual abuse of children.

Reppert obtained a Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General Administrative subpoena, which was provided for Richard Polbos, 52.

The Pennsylvania State Police Southeast Computer Crime Taskforce, Troop N — Lehighton Barracks, and Homeland Security Investigations executed a search warrant at Polbos’ home.

A digital forensic on-site preview was conducted on a laptop found in Polbos’ bedroom. Five files were located that depicted child pornography.

A full forensic analysis will be completed on all items seized from the residence.

Polbos was interviewed and admitted that the laptop was his and that he was the only user of it.

Polbos said child pornography was saved to his laptop, and acknowledged using Skype to share child pornography.

Polbos faces charges on 10 counts each of dissemination of photographs, videotapes, computer depictions and films, and sexual abuse of children, along with one count of criminal use of communication facility.

He remains incarcerated in the Monroe County Correctional Facility in lieu of $100,000 bail, and is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing May 17 before District Judge Kristina Anzini of Stroudsburg.
