Kunkletown woman wanted on warrant fled police
A Monroe County woman is facing charges following an incident that occurred at 8:20 p.m. Thursday.
State police at Lehighton said troopers went to the Pocono Vacation Park, located in Stroud Township, to serve a felony warrant on Dawn Marie Ball, 49, of Kunkletown. At that time Ball was spotted in a vehicle and a traffic stop was made. The vehicle was pulled over but the defendant then moved from the passenger seat to the driver’s seat and took off. A short pursuit followed with Ball eventually being taken into custody when she crashed the vehicle at the intersection of High Terrace Road and Valley View Drive.
Ball sustained minor injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment. She has been charged with escape, fleeing and attempting to elude police, flight to avoid apprehension and numerous motor vehicle code violations.
Records indicate Ball is a inmate in the county prison on the outstanding warrant.
