Published September 25. 2019 08:31PM

Once a year, Lansford Alive and Grace Community Church take over West Ridge Street in Lansford for the annual fall festival block party.

This year’s event will take place on Saturday and features a full lineup of entertainment as well as activities for the whole family. It’s a way to bring together the community and promote the town’s businesses.

“Lansford Alive doesn’t do this as a fundraiser, we do this as: come into town and see the positive changes in the town. We have a couple new businesses that just opened,” said Donna Valent, a Lansford Alive board member.

The festival runs from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

The entertainment includes the Grace Community Church Band, Angela Nardini, Joe Krushinsky as Elvis, Reilly Bauer, and John Frye Acoustics.

For kids, there will be a bounce house, face painting and pumpkin painting.

New and returning craft vendors will be selling wares along Ridge street. Local businesses will also have sale tables.

The Jukebox Cruisers will hold a car show and cruise, and Lansford Police Department will have a vehicle on display.

The food menu includes ethnic foods which are a tradition in the Panther Valley, and more.

West Ridge Street will be closed to traffic starting Friday at 7 p.m., and will reopen Saturday at 5 p.m.

The event is sponsored by Key Bank, KL Herring, Mauch Chunk Trust, PPL and Spotts Svercheck Insurance Agency. St. Luke’s and Community Bank are Gold Sponsors.

“It’s a positive way to spend hours down there on Saturday. Look through the cars, eat the food buy the crafts,” Valent said.
