Lansford driver cited in Lehigh crash

A Carbon County driver was cited in a rear-end crash in Lehigh County.

State police at Fogelsville said Kylia J. Scheitrum, 18, of Lansford, was operating a 2001 Chrysler Sebring southbound on Route 100 in Lowhill Township, at 8:39 a.m. on Monday and approaching traffic stopped ahead of her. She applied the brakes on her vehicle, which failed, and her vehicle rear-ended a 2012 Lexus RX350 operated by Marcie E. Hottinger, 52, of New Tripoli. Scheitrum sustained a minor head injury and was taken by Cetronia ambulance to St. Luke’s Hospital, Allentown. Hottinger was not injured. The Sebring had to be towed.

Scheitrum was cited for following too closely.
