Lansford man pleads in three pending cases

A Lansford man entered guilty pleas in three pending criminal cases on Tuesday in Carbon County court.

John D. Ferko III, 32, and formerly of Nesquehoning, pleaded to two counts of theft and one count of false identification to law enforcement.

He was arrested on the two theft counts at the Walmart store in Mahoning Township. The incidents occurred on July 10 and 11. The false ID occurred on July 20, also in Mahoning Township at the Lowe’s store.

Ferko is currently an inmate in the county prison. He a serving a sentence in Schuylkill County.

Judge Joseph J. Matika sentenced him to serve a total of two years probation on the theft counts and one year probation on the ID count, with the terms running concurrent.

He was also ordered to make total restitution of $192.33, render a total of 100 hours of community service when paroled, get a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow any recommendations for treatment, zero tolerance for drug and alcohol use, pay court costs of about $1,000, pay a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation and stay out of the store.
