Lansford man steals from employer

A Lansford man has been charged with stealing from his Tamaqua employer.

Joseph Chambers, 27, of West Bertsch Street in Lansford was employed at the Dunkin’ Donuts in Fegley’s Mini Mart, Center Street, when management noticed there was money missing. The store’s video surveillance system caught Chambers taking money from the cash drawer and placing it in his pocket at 10:25 p.m. on Nov. 23.

An audit determined a total of $167.41 was missing between Nov. 1 and Nov. 23.

When questioned, Chambers admitted tasking cash, but denied taking that much.

He was charged for the theft.
