Lansford needs new borough garage

As a taxpayer for Lansford Borough, I cannot believe that council can’t afford to built a new borough garage. They also got grant money of $160,000 from an LSA grant. Council will have to take out a loan for the rest of the money.

At the November meeting they didn’t accept bids on the new borough garage. Council couldn’t come up with the rest of the money. However, council could afford seven full-time police officers with benefits instead of using part-timers to cut cost down on the police department. I understand we need police protection, but we also need a borough garage.

The walls falling down, the roof is leaking bad, electrical needs to updated, the beams are in bad shape. Anyone interested in taking a tour of the borough garage is welcomed. I will give you a tour. What the borough needs is someone with knowledge to get more grant money.
