Lansford police arrest two on drug dealing charges
Lansford Police arrested two men on drug dealing charges after a traffic stop turned up 24 grams of heroin.
Daniel Christopher Fine, 21, of Slatington, and Zachary Scott Richardson, 21, of Nesquehoning, were found in possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop which occurred Sept. 23, according to court documents.
Officers stopped a black Honda Civic at 11:40 p.m. on that date for a loud exhaust and multiple windshield obstructions.
They observed the passenger, identified as Fine, reaching into the waist area of his pants and searched where he was sitting, finding two baggies which are commonly used to store heroin. Fine admitted to having an uncapped syringe in his pocket. Police searched him and found 90 packets containing a total of 15.23 grams of heroin, as well as $128.
He admitted to purchasing heroin from an acquaintance of Richardson’s.
Richardson, the driver of the vehicle, was given a field sobriety test and showed signs of impairment. They found baggies and a razor blade in Richardson’s wallet.
Police transported him to St. Luke’s Miners Campus for a blood test. They searched him at the hospital and found a zippered bag with 50 packets containing 9.23 grams of heroin.
Richardson admitted to selling Fine two bricks of heroin.
The two men were sent to Carbon County Correctional Facility with bail set at $50,000 for Fine and $25,000 for Richardson.
