LCCC hosts film honoring women’s history month

Published March 06. 2020 12:30PM

Lehigh Carbon Community College will host a film showcase in honor of Women’s History Month, featuring students’ work from the college’s Video Field Production class followed by the showing of “Epiphany,” a feature-length film by local female filmmakers.

The event will be held on March 16, from 6:30 to 9 p.m., in the Community Services Center ballroom at LCCC’s Schnecksville campus. Doors open at 6 p.m.

“Epiphany,” directed by Koula Sossiadis Kazista and Katina Sossiadis, co-writers and co-directors, is a film about a young girl and her family that illuminates Greek culture. The two joined forces with a female production team and helped create a steppingstone for other women in the film industry.

Admission is free, but nonperishable food items or monetary donations are generously accepted. All donations directly benefit LCCC’s Cougar Cabinet food pantry. Food will be available for purchase from the LCCC Film Club.

Film students at area high schools, colleges and universities are encouraged to attend. Following the showing of films will be a question-and-answer session with the filmmakers.
