Lebanon driver dies in Schuylkill crash

A Lebanon County driver died and a Schuylkill County driver was serious injured in a head-on crash about 2:33 p.m. on Monday along Route 183 in Schuylkill County.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Debra D. Young, 61, of Pottsville, was driving a Chevrolet Suburban northbound and failed to negotiate a right curve in the road. Her vehicle crossed into the southbound lane and collided head-on with a Ford E250 van truck driven by Stephen A. Batdorf, 58, of Jonestown.

Batdorf was pronounced dead at the scene while Young was flown by Medevac helicopter to the Reading Hospital with serious injuries.
