Lehigh Township conducts Coordinated Traffic Enforcement Day

Lehigh Township, in cooperation with Walnutport Police Department, on Tuesday conducted multiple simultaneous traffic enforcement details on Routes 145 and 248 in Lehigh Township.

The day marked Coordinated Traffic Enforcement Day throughout the state. In an effort to advance the Vision Zero 2019 Plan adopted by Lehigh Township last month, a five-hour traffic enforcement was conducted.

During the wave, 81 total citations were issued.

Of those, 77 were issued for speeding, with the fastest recorded vehicle traveling at 94 mph on Route 145; while three citations were issued for occupants not wearing seat belts; and one citation was issued for failure to obey traffic control devices.
