Lehighton’s Skylynn Faust picked up her 1,000th point in the third frame of Lehighton’s win over Pottsville in Wednesday night’s scholastic action.

Northern Lehigh boys’ and girls’ notched wins, as well.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Lehighton-Pottsville

Lehighton’s Skylynn Faust recorded her 1,000th point in the third period to lead the Tribe to a 47-37 Schuylkill League Division I win over Pottsville.

Faust totaled 18 points on the evening to lead all scorers, while Aubrey Blasiak was right behind with 16 for the Indians (8-1, 3-0).

For the Tide (4-3, 1-2), Plachko led the way with 11 points in the losing effort.

Pine Grove-Jim Thorpe

Pine Grove managed to pull away from Jim Thorpe for a decisive 58-33 Schuylkill League victory.

The Lady Cardinals (5-3, 2-1) were led by Steph Boyer’s 15 points underneath, while Ally Butler followed with 11.

The Lady Olympians (4-4, 1-3) got 13 points from Peyton Kovac, while sister Kayley added 10.

Thorpe pulled out a 47-37 JV win earlier in the evening.

Macy Alansky scored 10 of her 14 points in the second half for the Fillies (7-2, 2-0). Isabella Schwabe scored nine points, while Gianna Agosti and Emma McClafferty added eight points apiece in the win.

Marian also won the JV game, 30-16.

For the Lady Panthers (5-6, 0-4), Christina Dacey scored 14 points, while Erika Dubosky added eight.

Blue Mountain pulled out a close win over Tamaqua with a decisive final frame to come from behind for the 55-49 victory.

The Blue Eagles’ (4-3, 2-1) balance proved to be a factor, as Kasey Dean’s 15 led the way, Erin McQuillan’s 14 was next, and Emily Fasnacht added 10 for Blue Mountain, which outscored Tamaqua 19-9 in the final frame.

For the Lady Raiders (7-2, 1-2), Emma Kuczynski led all scorers with 19 points on the night.

Tamaqua won the JV game, 43-27, behind Sophia Boyle’s 23 points.

The Panthers improved to 5-2 with the close win behind Travis Elmore’s 16 points and 12 from Haybert Louchie, and remain undefeated at 3-0 in the league.

Meanwhile, the Bears (4-3, 1-2) got 16 points from DeShawn Scarboro and 11 from Andrius Harrison-Gaddist in the losing effort.

PM West won the JV game, 71-24.
