Lehighton’s Faust will play basketball at King’s
Lehighton’s Skylynn Faust will continue her academic and athletic careers at Kings College in Wilkes-Barre.
Faust will major in neuroscience at King’s and also play women’s basketball.
At Lehighton, Faust was a four-year starter in basketball. She scored 1,323 career points, which was the fourth highest total in Lehighton girls basketball history. She scored 548 points this past season, which was the second highest single-season total in school history. She also scored 38 points in a game twice this season, which was the second highest single-game total in school history.
Faust was a three-time Lady Indian Classic All-Tournament team member and a two-time Lady Indian Classic Most Valuable Player. She was a two-time team captain was named team MVP after both her junior and senior seasons. This past season, she was the Times News Player of the Year, a Schuylkill League Player of the Year nominee, a Via All-Star team selection, and a Via All-Star MVP team selection.
Academically, Faust was an honors or high honors student in her sophomore, junior and seniors years. This year, she ranks among the top 25 percent in her class and was inducted into the National Honor Society.
Among her school activities are secretary of SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions), yearbook member, Pride and Support member, School Wide Positive Behavior member, and vice president of the Red Cross.
Skylynn is the daughter of Tina Hawkins-Putman.
