Lehighton’s Kunkle will continue softball career at Muhlenberg College
Lehighton’s Cierra Kunkle has announced that she will continue her academic and softball careers at Muhlenberg College.
This spring will be Kunkle’s fourth year as a member of the Lehighton softball team. She has played pitcher, third baseman and shortstop during her career.
Last season as a junior, Kunkle captained the Indian team. She had a .379 batting average with a home run, four triples and two doubles. As a sophomore, Kunkle received the team’s Sportsmanship Award, and as a freshman she received the Indians’ Defensive Award.
In addition to softball, Kunkle was a two-year member of the volleyball team, was president of the National Art Honor Society, was on the yearbook staff, was a member of the senior assembly group, and participated in the PALS program.
Cierra is the daughter of Steve and Sherry Kunkle. She plans to major in psychology at Muhlenberg.
