LEHIGHTON BOROUGH COUNCIL

Lehighton Borough Council, on a 5-0 vote Monday with councilmen Joe Flickinger and Darryl Arner absent, agreed to take the following action:

• Approved the Keystone Grant Agreement for the Lehighton Area Memorial Library addition.

• Approved the participation and $15,000 grant match for the PCCD Body Worn Camera Implementation and Expansion Program for the borough police department.

•Approved the proposal to provide traffic engineering services in the amount of $5,500 by Barry Isett & Associates for the no left turn restriction study for Ninth and Union streets.

• Granted a pair of waivers for the Bennett 443 Land Development and Subdivision Properties and Vacation Plan between AutoZone and NAPA.

• Agreed to proceed with the distribution on the Main Street Specialist Report for the Downtown Revitalization Visit.

• Appointed Councilman Ryan Saunders to the borough’s Parks & Recreation Board.

• Appointed Councilman Jared McEvoy to the borough’s Parks & Recreation Committee.

• Approved the 2018 Audit Engagement Letter with Hutchinson, Gillahan & Freeh, P.C.

• Advertised an ordinance vacating a portion of Lentz Avenue.
