LEHIGHTON BOROUGH COUNCIL

Lehighton Borough Council took the following action recently:

• Tabled consideration on the request from Lehighton Area School District for police vehicle donation.

• Approved Kathy Long’s resignation from the Parks & Recreation Board.

• Approved a parking space lease agreement with Gaston Brothers Inc. for the placement of a dumpster in the Keystone Alley Parking Lot.

• Approved the placement of a new gateway sign at the Route 209 median. It was noted the sign has already been put up.

• Approved Palmerton Borough’s request for fire police assistance with the St. Luke’s Five & Dime Road Race on May 11.

• Denied Palmerton Borough’s request for fire police assistance with its Memorial Day Parade on May 27 because it falls the same day Lehighton holds its Memorial Day service.

• Approved a request from the Peaceful Knights to hold the Crusade for the Homeless 5K Walk/Run July 20.
