LEHIGHTON BOROUGH COUNCIL

Lehighton Borough Council took the following action at a special meeting on Thursday:

• Approved the bridge funding from the borough’s sewer fund, and a transfer from the sewer capital funds, to cover the grant match for the Baer Memorial Improvement Project. The total project is $350,000, for which a Department of Conservation and Natural Resources grant would cover about $186,000, while the borough would pick up the other $164,000.

• Approved payment application #1 for the Baer Memorial Improvement Project in the amount of $122,786.

• Accepted the resignation of Steve Klotz as part-time Public Works laborer.

• Agreed to advertise for a part-time Public Works laborer.

• Accepted the resignation of Elizabeth Desmond as part-time police clerk.

• Agreed to hire Doris Venuto as part-time police clerk pending pre-employment process.
