Lehighton Borough Council also took the following action on Monday:

• Approved the release of the letter of credit for the Blakeslee Commons Project in the amount of $25,060.

• Approved the proposal for the three-month flow monitoring for the Phase I Inflow and Infiltration Project from USG of Camp Hill in the amount of $4,350. The proposal is for seven meters to be rented, installed, removed and monitored monthly so that the borough can pinpoint areas of town with excessive inflow and infiltration.

• Agreed to purchase the Caterpillar hydraulic rotary broom for the skid loader in the amount of $7,900 from the Special Highway Fund.

• Awarded a bid of $5,100 to Jeffrey Repsher for the sale of the borough’s 1997 Freightliner FL-70 bucket truck.

• Approved the resignation of Felicia Pilla as health officer, effective April 30.

• Approved the memorandum of agreement for the material of terms for the 2018-21 Lehighton Borough Police Collective Bargaining Agreement.

• Agreed to restructure the Streets, Buildings & Code and Public Works and Recreation committees to Economic Development, Building & Code and Public Works & Recreation, with streets falling under the realms of Public Works.

• Agreed to have borough Manager Nicole Beckett meet with Lehighton Fire Department Fire Chief Patrick Mriss to further discuss the Act 172 ordinance to review again and re-evaluate the program criteria requirements.

• Agreed to have someone meet with the Trinity Church to further discuss the potential for two additional handicapped parking spaces with specified times, and to look at the request further based on location.

• Agreed to make a notation in Monday’s meeting minutes concerning comments made by resident Edward Conarty concerning the use of the Pfc. Clyde R. Houser Jr. Building/Borough Annex at 110 N. Third St.

• Approved a request from St. Luke’s Hospital to use the Lehighton Trailhead for the eighth Annual Charity Bike Ride on June 2.

• Agreed to approve a resolution updating the fee schedule for fiscal year 2018.

• Agreed to advertise for lifeguards for the 2018 season.
