Lehighton considers assistant borough manager position

Could an assistant borough manager be brought into the fold to assist Lehighton’s top-ranking official?

The matter was briefly discussed at last week’s borough council meeting under the finance and administration committee report.

At that time, Councilwoman Lisa Perry asked for an assistant borough manager to be put on next month’s meeting agenda.

After the meeting, borough Manager Nicole Beckett said the job description will be drafted for future discussion.

Beckett said there is no line item in this year’s budget for the position.

She said the matter will be placed on council’s Sept. 24 meeting agenda.
