Bethany EC Church

Bethany EC Church, 222 North St. holds Sunday worship at 10:45 a.m. with the Rev. Timothy Ream, pastor.

Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m. with classes for all ages; fellowship time, 10:15 a.m.; preschool nursery available and Jr. Church provided for children in kindergarten through sixth grade.

Wednesday: Prayer meeting, 7 p.m.

Thursday: Men’s Bible study at McDonald’s, 5 a.m.

Crossroads Community Church

Crossroads Community Church, 580 Coal St., holds Sunday worship service with Pastor Kevin McGraw. It is a place for a fresh start with God.

Adult Sunday school at 9:30 a.m.; contemporary worship service at 10:30 a.m. with nursery available; children’s Sunday school at 11 a.m.; fellowship following service.

Church Picnic/Baptism: Aug. 4.

Communion: Last Sunday of the month.

St. John’s

St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 826 Mahoning Drive West, Lehighton

Worship services: 6:30 p.m. Saturday, 9 a.m. Sunday both with Holy Communion.

P.A.C. meeting: Wednesday, 6:30 p.m. in the family room.

Worship service: 9 a.m. Aug. 11.

Worship & Music Committee meeting: 10:15 a.m. Aug. 11.

Grief Support: 6:30 p.m. Aug. 12, in the family room.

J.O.Y. (Just Older Youth) meeting: 11 a.m. Aug. 13, Bring a lunch. Dessert will be provided. If the weather is nice, games will be played in the pavilion. Folks that like to walk can go walking around the cemetery. New folks are always welcome.

Fundraising meeting: 6:30 p.m. Aug. 14, in the church office.

Food pantry items: For August it will be mac and cheese. Place your items in the container in the narthex.

Trinity Highlights

First Saturday worship with Holy Communion at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St, is at 5 p.m. Sunday worship with Holy Communion begins at 9:30 a.m. Gluten-free wafers are available to those with allergy issues. Included on Sunday is the installation of Vacation Bible School staff and seminary intern Vicar Krenz. The Rev. Nancy Moore presides. The church is air-conditioned.

A “Meet-and-Greet” Brunch to welcome Vicar Krenz follows the Sunday worship service as he begins his two-year term at the congregation. He is a New Mexico native, and enrolled at Trinity Lutheran Seminary, Columbus, Ohio.

First Tuesday quiet communion is at 10 a.m. Aug. 6.

Vacation Bible School is next week, Aug. 5-9, 6:30-8:30 p.m., with the theme “Who’s Your Neighbor? Learning to Love Like Jesus.” Free registration for children ages 3 through sixth grade. Volunteers are needed and welcomed to help. Contact the church office to register.
