Bethany EC Church

Bethany EC Church, 222 North St. Sunday worship, Lumber River Ministries, North Carolina, during 10:45 a.m. worship Aug. 26. 9:30 a.m. Sunday school. The community is welcome to enjoy great Southern gospel music. Cool, comfortable and handicapped accessible through side door in the alley.

Tuesday: Ladies Bible study, 10 a.m. at Blocker’s residence.

Wednesday: Prayer meeting, 7 p.m.

Saturday: Bare Necessities Pantry, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, St. Peter’s Resource Center, Main Road, Franklin Township.

In need of men’s new or slightly used casual clothing of all sizes and children sizes up to size 12 to be distributed at St. Peter’s community resource center. Clothing can be dropped off at side entrance to Bethany ECC Fridays from 10 a.m. to noon.

Crossroads Community Church

Crossroads Community Church, 580 Coal St., holds Sunday worship service with Pastor Jim Banks. It is a place for a fresh start with God.

Adult Sunday school at 9:30 a.m.; contemporary worship service at 10:30 a.m. with nursery available; children’s Sunday school at 11 a.m.; fellowship following service.

Communion: Last Sunday of the month.

Trinity happenings

Sunday worship at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., is at 9:30 a.m. The Rev. Nancy Moore presides. Vicar Richard Bergen assists. The church is air-conditioned.

For those desiring church membership or a baptismal date, appointments with Pastor Moore can be arranged by contacting the church office at 610-377-4303.

The regular Sunday morning church school for students age 3 through sixth grade returns weekly at 10:45 a.m. on Sept. 9. In addition, catechism classes for students in seventh and eighth grades also resume. Students eligible for confirmation classes need their names registered at the church office by Aug. 31 so that the curriculum material be available when new classes begin.
