Bethany EC Church

Bethany EC Church, 222 North St. holds Sunday worship at 10:45 a.m. with the Rev. Timothy Ream, pastor.

Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m. with classes for all ages; fellowship time, 10:15 a.m.; preschool nursery available and Jr. Church provided for children in kindergarten through sixth grade.

Wednesday: Youth Group, 6 p.m.; prayer meeting, 7 p.m.

Thursday: Men’s Bible study at McDonald’s, 5 a.m.

Crossroads Community Church

Crossroads Community Church, 580 Coal St., holds Sunday worship service with Pastor Kevin McGraw. It is a place for a fresh start with God.

Adult Sunday school at 9:30 a.m.; contemporary worship service at 10:30 a.m. with nursery available; children’s Sunday school at 11 a.m.; fellowship following service.

Midweek Bible study: Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. Currently studying the book of Revelation.

Men’s fellowship breakfast: First Saturday of each month at 8:30 a.m.

Women’s fellowship breakfast: Third Saturday of each month at 9 a.m.

Communion: Last Sunday of the month.

St. John’s

St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church, 826 Mahoning Drive West, Lehighton

Worship service: Sunday, 9 a.m. with Holy Communion.

P.A.C. meeting: Sept. 4, 6:30 p.m. in the family room.

Pastor installation: Sept. 5, 7 p.m. Installation of the Rev. Lauren Wolfe Blatt. Refreshments in the fellowship hall after the service.

Rally day: Sept. 8 after the worship service we will head to Yenser’s Tree Farm for our Sunday school rally day. We’ll get lost in the corn maze, go on a hayride, jump up and down on the bounce pad (adults too!) and check out the playground. Food will be provided by our adult Sunday school class. Join us for tons of fun.

Sunday school class: Will resume on Sept. 22 at 10:15 a.m. We will do service projects once/month and will involve all age groups, including adults.

Harvest home worship service: Sept. 22, 9 a.m. We ask that you bring some canned or packaged food products to the church that morning to display on the railing in front of the altar area. The donations will be delivered to the Trinity Food Pantry in Lehighton. If you’d like to help decorate the church for harvest home and the fall season, please join us at 10 a.m. on Sept. 21.

Trinity highlights

Sunday worship with Holy Communion at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., begins at 9:30 a.m. Gluten-free wafers are available to those with allergy issues. The Rev. Nancy Moore presides. Vicar Joshua Krenz assists. The church is air-conditioned.

Students in grades 5-12 are invited to gather in the youth room on Sunday evening from 5-7 p.m. for a “Get to Know the New Vicar” pizza party. Vicar Krenz will host a time for meet-and-greet conversation and gather information for starting and naming this year’s youth group.

First Tuesday Quiet Communion is at 10 a.m. Sept. 3.

Sunday church school resumes Sept. 8, with Rally Day activities for children ages 3 through sixth grade, at 10:45 a.m.

The NE PA synod End-of-Summer Ice Cream Tour begins this week. Bishop Samuel Zeiser and Vice President Kristen Edelman-Weiner invite people to visit in a fun and informal way to spark conversation about news in the synod and churchwide. Please note that ice cream/food purchases are up to individuals attending, and no purchases are necessary to come and participate. All are encouraged to come and go as desired. The tour begins Aug. 30, 4-6 p.m., at the 940 Junction, Pocono Pines. Trip 2 includes a stop Aug. 31, 7-9 p.m. at Milkhouse Creamery, West Hazleton.
