Trinity happenings
Sunday worship at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., with Holy Communion is at 9:30 a.m. Gluten-free communion wafers are available for those with allergy issues. The Rev. Nancy Moore presides. Vicar Richard Bergen assists. Coffeehouse fellowship follows.
Sunday church school classes for students age 3 through sixth grade begin at 10:45 a.m. There will be a Christmas break from classes for the next two Sundays, resuming Jan. 7, 2018.
“Breaking Bread” youth group for students in grades 7-12 will gather Sunday in the youth room from 5-7 p.m. with supper, Bible study and discussion. Vicar Rich Bergen is the adviser.
For those desiring to seek membership at Trinity or arranging a baptismal date, an appointment may be arranged with Pastor Moore by contacting the church office at 610-377-4303.
Upcoming Christmas Eve worship schedule includes 9:30 a.m. Service of the Word; 6 p.m. Family worship with the Trinity Praise Band providing music; 9 p.m. Traditional Candlelight worship. Holy Communion is at both evening settings.
Bethany EC Church
Bethany EC Church, 222 North St. holds Sunday worship with the Rev. Jeff Stansbury, pastor.
Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m. with classes for all ages, including adult Bible study class, fellowship time at 10:15 a.m., morning worship at 10:45 a.m., preschool nursery available and Jr. Church provided for children in kindergarten through sixth grade. Morning worship will include a special children’s program including guest puppets to spread the message of the birth of Christ. Brunch to follow with Lehighton Borough.
Monday: Kids Club, 6-7:15 p.m. each Monday.
Tuesday: Bible study, 10 a.m. at Blocker’s residence.
Wednesday: Revelation Bible study, 6 p.m.; prayer meeting, 7 p.m.
Thursday: Men’s Bible study at McDonald’s, 5:15 a.m.; choir practice, 7 p.m.
Saturday: Clothing Ministry, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Dec. 16, Bare Necessities Pantry, St. Peter’s Community Resource Center.
Looking ahead: 7 p.m. Dec. 24, Christmas Eve Candlelight service. Community and families welcomed.
