Bethany EC Church
Bethany EC Church, 222 North St. holds Sunday worship with the Rev. Jeff Stansbury, pastor.
Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m. with classes for all ages, including adult Bible study class, morning worship at 10:45 a.m., preschool nursery available and Jr. Church provided for children in kindergarten through sixth grade.
Wednesday: Prayer meeting, prayer devotional and singing, 7-8 p.m.
Thursday: Men’s Bible study at McDonald’s, 5:15 a.m.; choir practice, 7 p.m.

Crossroads Community Church
Crossroads Community Church, 580 Coal St., holds Sunday worship service with Pastor Jim Banks. It is a place for a fresh start with God.
Adult Sunday school at 9:30 a.m.; contemporary worship service at 10:30 a.m. with nursery available; children’s Sunday school at 11 a.m.; fellowship following service.
Tuesday: Adult Bible study at 6:30 p.m., currently studying the book of Ephesians.
Communion: Last Sunday of the month.
Trinity happenings
Sunday worship at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., begins at 9:30 a.m. Included during worship is sacrament of baptism, service of healing and blessing of the prayer shawls. The Rev. Nancy Moore presides. Vicar Richard Bergen assists. Coffeehouse fellowship follows.
The service of healing with prayers and the “laying on of hands” are said for those to help ease one’s emotional, physical and spiritual burdens. Prayer shawls are handmade by volunteers, and are to be used in times of joy or sorrow and ordinary times during daily faith practices. The prayer shawls are available at no cost.
Sunday church school for students ages 3 through sixth grade resume Jan. 6.
A reminder that the monthly quiet communion will be held at 10 a.m. on the second Tuesday, Jan. 8, due to the holiday. First Tuesday hours at the food pantry will be 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2.
The annual Community New Year’s Day Pork and Sauerkraut meal held in Luther Hall. The dinner is free for a seating at 11:30 a.m. or 1 p.m., but reservations are required. In addition, volunteers are needed to prep, serve, clean up and bake. Please make your reservation by contacting the church office during regular business hours, by Friday, Dec. 28. The event is dine-in only.
