Bethany EC Church

Bethany EC Church, 222 North St. holds Sunday worship at 10:45 a.m. with the Rev. Jeff Stansbury, pastor.

Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m. with classes for all ages, including adult Bible study class; fellowship time, 10:15 a.m.; preschool nursery available and Jr. Church provided for children in kindergarten through sixth grade.

Wednesday: Prayer meeting, prayer devotional and singing, 7-8 p.m.

Thursday: Men’s Bible study at McDonald’s, 5:15 a.m.; choir rehearsal, 7 p.m.

Crossroads Community Church, 580 Coal St., holds Sunday worship service with Pastor Jim Banks. It is a place for a fresh start with God.

Trinity happenings

First Saturday worship with Holy Communion at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., is at 5 p.m. Sunday worship with Holy Communion begins at 9:30 a.m. Gluten-free wafers are available to those with allergy issues. The Rev. Nancy Moore presides. Vicar Richard Bergen assists. Coffeehouse fellowship follows.

Sunday church school for students ages 3 through sixth grade start at 10:45 a.m.

Jack and Jill Preschool was started in 1978 providing safe, caring Christian preschool education to the children of the area. Trinity’s First Tuesday Quiet Communion is 10 a.m. Tuesday.

The season of Lent begins Wednesday with worship that includes Holy Communion and Imposition of Ashes in the shape of a cross on the forehead at noon and 7 p.m. Midweek devotions will start March 13 and continue through April 10 at 7 p.m. A simple soup supper will begin at 6 p.m.
