Bethany EC Church

Bethany EC Church, 222 North St. holds Sunday worship at 10:45 a.m. with the Rev. Timothy Ream, pastor.

Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m. with classes for all ages; fellowship time 10:15-10:45 a.m. Chili cook-off and covered dish luncheon in fellowship hall, 12:30 p.m.

Jan. 15: Prayer meeting, 7 p.m.

Jan. 16: Men’s Bible study at McDonald’s, Blakeslee Boulevard, Lehighton 5 a.m.; choir practice, 7 p.m.; Youth group at Winter Jam Tour Spectacular, Santander Arena in Reading, 7 p.m.

Crossroads Community Church

Crossroads Community Church, 580 Coal St., holds Sunday worship service with Pastor Kevin McGraw. It is a place for a fresh start with God.

Adult Sunday school at 9:30 a.m.; contemporary worship service at 10:30 a.m. with nursery available; children’s Sunday school at 11 a.m.; fellowship following service.

Midweek Bible study: Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. Currently studying the book of Revelation.

Men’s fellowship breakfast: First Saturday of each month at 8:30 a.m.

Women’s fellowship breakfast: Third Saturday of each month at 9 a.m.

Communion: Last Sunday of the month.

St. John’s

St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church of Mahoning, 826 Mahoning Drive W. Lehighton

Worship: Jan. 12, 9 a.m.

Winter Walks with Jesus: Adult Faith Formation immediately following worship on Sunday.

Sanctuary Choir: Practice for 15 minutes on Sunday following the worship service.

Worship & Music Team Meeting: Sunday, 10:15 a.m. in the church office.

Cottage Meeting: Tuesday, 6:30 p.m. This meeting will be to discuss the future of St. John’s. We will discuss, openly and honestly, the direction of our church. It’s incredibly important to have a variety of opinions and ideas on our 20/20 vision for St. John’s. If you can’t make either meeting, please let the leadership at St. John’s know, so that we know your absence does not signal your indifference. The next meeting will be at 1 p.m. Jan. 21.

Dinner & Discussion: Jan. 16, 6:30 p.m. Topic: Coincidence or a “Wink” from God. This will be a discussion on things that happen in our lives and how these happenings could be connected to our relationship with God.

Casual Worship: Jan. 18 with Holy Communion at 6:30 p.m. in either the family room or the fellowship hall. Saturday worship is an opportunity for those who cannot attend Sunday worship due to work schedule or other commitments that cannot be rescheduled.

Trinity Highlights

Sunday worship at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., with Holy Communion and recognition of 2019 baptisms begins at 9:30 a.m. Gluten-free wafers are available for those with allergy issues. The Rev. Nancy Moore presides. Vicar Joshua Krenz assists. Coffeehouse fellowship follows.

Sunday church school for students ages 3 through sixth grade begins at 10:45 a.m. Classes will not meet Jan. 19 due to the annual meeting when a review of the previous year’s congregational activities are reported with discussion. Classes resume Jan. 26.

Students in grades 5-12 are invited to participate in food, conversation and youth group activities Jan. 19 and 26, 5-7 p.m., at the second floor youth room. Vicar Joshua Krenz is the youth adviser.
