Bethany EC Church

Community Vacation Bible School: Lehighton Bethany ECC is teaming up with Zion UCC to co-host VBS filled with fun and activities for children ages 3 to sixth grade. Registration and introduction will take place from 4-5:30 p.m. Sunday at Zion UCC, Second and Iron streets. “Rolling River Rampage” VBS will be held 6-8:30 p.m. July 16-18 at Zion UCC. Open to all children of Lehighton area. Bring your friends and enjoy a fun-filled program.

Bethany EC Church, 222 North St. holds Sunday worship with the Rev. Jeff Stansbury, pastor.

Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m. with classes for all ages, including adult Bible study class, worship service at 10:45 a.m., preschool nursery available and Jr. Church provided for children in kindergarten through sixth grade.

Tuesday: Ladies Bible study, 10 a.m. at Blocker’s residence.

Wednesday: Prayer meeting, 7 p.m.

Thursday: Men’s Bible study at McDonald’s, 5:15 a.m.

In need of men’s new or slightly used clothing of all sizes to be distributed at St. Peter’s community resource center. Clothing can be dropped off at side entrance to Bethany ECC Fridays from 10 a.m. to noon.

• Lumber River, NC, during 10:45 a.m. worship, Aug. 26. Community welcome to enjoy great gospel music.

Crossroads Community

Crossroads Community Church, 580 Coal St., holds Sunday worship service with Pastor Jim Banks. It is a place for a fresh start with God.

Adult Sunday school at 9:30 a.m.; Contemporary worship service at 10:30 a.m. with nursery available; children’s Sunday school at 11 a.m.; fellowship following service.

Communion: Last Sunday of the month.

Trinity happenings

Sunday worship at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., with Holy Communion and baptism is at 9:30 a.m. Gluten-free communion wafers are available for those with allergy issues. The Rev. Nancy Moore presides. Vicar Rich Bergen assists. The church is air-conditioned.

For those desiring church membership or a baptismal date, appointments with Pastor Moore can be arranged by contacting the church office at 610-377-4303.

Join Vicar Rich Bergen for hamburgers, hot dogs and Bible study. Following the 6 p.m. July 16 cookout, the topic is Martin Luther’s four-stranded garland style of prayerful reflection. Following the 6 p.m. July 23 cookout, the topic of St. Ignatius’ imaginative prayer will be engaged. Contact the church office to preregister.

Time is drawing closer for Trinity’s Vacation Bible School. Registration forms are available in the church office or can be downloaded at tlclehighton.com. “Splash Canyon: God’s Promise on Life’s Wild Ride” is 6:30-8:30 p.m. Aug. 6-10, for children ages 3 through sixth grade. There is no registration fee. Teen and adult volunteers are welcome to help; please contact the church office.
