Bethany EC Church
Bethany EC Church, 222 North St. holds Sunday worship with the Rev. Jeff Stansbury, pastor.
Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m. with classes for all ages, including adult Bible study class, morning worship at 10:45 a.m., preschool nursery available and Jr. Church provided for children in kindergarten through sixth grade.
Wednesday: Prayer meeting, 7 p.m.
Thursday: Men’s Bible study at McDonald’s, 5:15 a.m.
Friday: Wrapped in Prayer Ministry.
In need of men’s new or slightly used casual clothing of all sizes to be distributed at St. Peter’s community resource center. Clothing can be dropped off at side entrance to Bethany ECC Fridays from 10 a.m. to noon.

Crossroads Community Church
Crossroads Community Church, 580 Coal St. holds Sunday worship service with Pastor Jim Banks. It is a place for a fresh start with God.
Adult Sunday school at 9:30 a.m.; contemporary worship service at 10:30 a.m. with nursery available; children’s Sunday school at 11 a.m.; Fellowship following service.
Communion: Last Sunday of the month.
Trinity happenings
Sunday worship at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., is at 9:30 a.m. A recap of highlights of the recent ELCA Youth Gathering in Houston will be presented by the congregation’s participants. The Rev. Nancy Moore presides. Vicar Richard Bergen assists. The church is air-conditioned.
Volunteers from the church are going to the Summit Nursing & Rehabilitation Center at 6:30 p.m. today for “Christmas Continued.” There will be singalong of seasonal tunes, visiting residents and gifts handed out by Santa Claus. Community volunteers are welcome to participate.

Join Vicar Rich Bergen for hamburgers, hot dogs and Bible study. Following the 6 p.m. July 23 cookout, the topic of St. Ignatius’ imaginative prayer will be engaged. Contact the church office to preregister.
Time is drawing closer for Trinity’s Vacation Bible School. Registration forms are available in the church office or can be downloaded at tlclehighton.com. “Splash Canyon: God’s Promise on Life’s Wild Ride” is Aug 6-10, for children ages 3 through sixth grade from the community, 6:30-8:30 p.m. There is no registration fee. Teen and adult volunteers are welcome to help; please contact the church office.
