Bethany EC Church

Bethany EC Church, 222 North St. holds Sunday worship at 10:45 a.m. with the Rev. Jeff Stansbury, pastor.

Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m. with classes for all ages, including adult Bible study class; fellowship time, 10:15 a.m.; preschool nursery available and Jr. Church provided for children in kindergarten through sixth grade.

Wednesday: Prayer meeting, 7 p.m.

Thursday: Men’s Bible study at McDonald’s, 5:15 a.m.

Crossroads Community Church, 580 Coal St., holds Sunday worship service with Pastor Kevin McGraw. It is a place for a fresh start with God.

Adult Sunday school at 9:30 a.m.; contemporary worship service at 10:30 a.m. with nursery available; children’s Sunday school at 11 a.m.; fellowship following service.

Trinity Happenings

Sunday worship at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., begins at 9:30 a.m. To be included is the service of healing and blessing of prayer shawls. The Rev. Nancy Moore presides. Vicar Richard Bergen assists.

The Service of Healing with prayers and the “laying on of hands” are said for those to help ease one’s emotional, physical and spiritual burdens. Prayer shawls are handmade by volunteers, and are to be used in times of joy or sorrow and ordinary times as a form of comfort during daily faith practices. The prayer shawls are available at no cost.

Appointments are available with the pastor for those desiring a baptismal date or a wedding date. Please contact the church office at 610-377-4303.

Do you love to sew or want to learn? Attention to youth grades 5 and up to attend a sewing group to complete a service project. Sessions will be 10 a.m. to noon July 9, 16, 23, 30 in the youth room. Register by contacting the church office before July 7.

Trinity’s community Vacation Bible School Aug. 5-9, 6:30-8:30 p.m., with the theme “Who’s Your Neighbor? Learning to Love Like Jesus.” Free registration for children ages 3 through sixth grade. Volunteers are needed and welcomed to help. Contact the church office to register.
