Bethany EC Church, 222 North St. holds Sunday worship at 10:45 a.m. with the Rev. Jeff Stansbury, pastor.
First Sunday in Lent, Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m. with classes for all ages, including adult Bible study class; fellowship time, 10:15 a.m.; preschool nursery available and Jr. Church provided for children in kindergarten through sixth grade.
Wednesday: Prayer meeting.
Thursday: Men’s Bible study at McDonald’s, 5:15 a.m.; choir rehearsal, 7 p.m.

Crossroads Community Church, 580 Coal St., holds Sunday worship service with Pastor Jim Banks. It is a place for a fresh start with God.

Trinity happenings
Sunday worship at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., begins at 9:30 a.m. Included during this time is recognition of Girl Scouts. The Rev. Nancy Moore presides. Vicar Richard Bergen presides. Coffeehouse fellowship follows.
Sunday church school for students ages 3 through grade six start at 10:45 a.m.
“Breaking Bread” Youth Group for students in grades seven through 12 will meet in the Youth Room from 5 to 7 p.m. March 10 and 17. Led by Vicar Bergen, the group has supper, Bible study with discussion, service project and games.
A Lenten series of midweek “Holden Evening Prayer” with psalm devotions starts at 7 p.m. March 13 and continues through April 10. A simple soup supper will begin at 6 p.m.
