Bethany EC Church
Bethany EC Church, 222 North St. holds Sunday worship at 10:45 a.m. with the Rev. Jeff Stansbury, pastor.
Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m. with classes for all ages, including adult Bible study class; fellowship time, 10:15 a.m.; preschool nursery available and Jr. Church provided for children in kindergarten through sixth grade.
Wednesday: Prayer meeting, 7 p.m.
Thursday: Men’s Bible study at McDonald’s, 5:15 a.m.; choir rehearsal, 7 p.m.

In need of new or gently used children’s clothing infant to size 12 and casual men’s clothing for distribution at St. Peter’s Community Resource Center. Clothing can be dropped at side entrance to Bethany Church Fridays 10 a.m. to noon.

Crossroads Community Church
Crossroads Community Church, 580 Coal St., holds Sunday worship service with Pastor Kevin McGraw. It is a place for a fresh start with God.
Adult Sunday school at 9:30 a.m.; contemporary worship service at 10:30 a.m. with nursery available; children’s Sunday school at 11 a.m.; fellowship following service.
Installation service: May 19, This special service will include the official installation of our new pastor, Kevin McGraw. Luncheon celebration to follow the service.
Tuesday: Adult Bible study at 6:30 p.m., currently studying the book of 2 Thessalonians.
Communion: Last Sunday of the month.
Trinity happenings
Sunday worship with Holy Communion at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., begins at 9:30 a.m. Gluten-free wafers are available to those with allergy issues. The Rev. Nancy Moore presides. Vicar Richard Bergen presides. Coffeehouse fellowship follows.
Sunday church school for students ages 3 through sixth grade starts at 10:45 a.m.
Trinity is the host church location for the NE PA synod of the Women of the ELCA convention on Saturday. The theme is “I Love to Tell the Story.” Opening worship begins at 9 a.m. The day continues with election of officers, reports, and presentation from executive board member Joy Michalicek, of Duluth, Minnesota.
A Bible study on the book of Ruth, being led by Vicar Rich, continues Monday, and concludes May 29 at 6:30 p.m.
Recognition of high school graduates and all institutions of higher learning will be observed during June 2 worship. Please contact the church office with your name before the end of the month to be included in this milestone event.
Plans are underway for a Trinity church directory to be compiled. Photos dates and appointment times are still available in late May. Please contact the church office for more information.
“Breaking Bread” Youth Group for students in grades 7-12 meet from 5-7 p.m. May 26 with a meal, Bible study with discussion and games. The final gathering for the season is June 9 as a “game night.” Vicar Rich is the adviser.
