Bethany EC Church
Bethany EC Church, 222 North St. holds Sunday worship at 10:45 a.m. with the Rev. Timothy Ream, pastor.
Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m. with classes for all ages; fellowship time 10:15-10:45 a.m.; preschool nursery available and Jr. Church provided for children in kindergarten through sixth grade.
Wednesday: Youth group, 6 p.m. at church, Prayer meeting, 7 p.m.
Thursday: Men’s Bible study at McDonald’s, Blakeslee Boulevard, Lehighton 5 a.m.; choir practice, 7 p.m.
Sunday: Deadline to return filled Operation Christmas Boxes.
Upcoming events:
• Nov. 24: 10:45 a.m. First responders special service and lunch in their honor. As part of the service, a prayer of blessing will be given in their honor and for the safety of their vehicles. This service of blessing is open to all local first responders and their families. A lunch will follow in the fellowship hall and to-go meal service available for those unable to stay. Crossroads Community Church
Crossroads Community Church, 580 Coal St., holds Sunday worship service with Pastor Kevin McGraw. It is a place for a fresh start with God.
Adult Sunday school at 9:30 a.m.; contemporary worship service at 10:30 a.m. with nursery available; children’s Sunday school at 11 a.m.; fellowship following service.
Thanksgiving blessing: The church is collecting nonperishable items until Nov. 24 to benefit the local food pantry.
Midweek Bible study: Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. Currently studying the book of Revelation.
Men’s fellowship breakfast: First Saturday of each month at 8:30 a.m.
Women’s fellowship breakfast: Third Saturday of each month at 9 a.m.
Communion: Last Sunday of the month.
Trinity Highlights
Sunday worship with Holy Communion at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., begins at 9:30 a.m. Gluten-free wafers are available for those with allergy issues. The Rev. Nancy Moore presides. Vicar Joshua Krenz assists. Coffeehouse fellowship follows.
There will be no Sunday church school classes due to the annual congregational meeting, when council members will be elected and parish projects will be updated. Congregational members are urged to attend this important meeting.
Classes resume Nov. 24 for students ages 3 through sixth grade.
Students in grades 5-12 are invited to participate in food, conversation and youth group activities from 5-7 p.m. Sunday at the second floor youth room. November’s schedule continues at 5 p.m. next Sunday. Vicar Joshua Krenz is the youth adviser.
Trinity and Thrivent Member Network are joining in the collection of pop tabs from soft drink or soup containers. The collection will continue through the end of November to benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities. A box is available in the narthex or tabs may be dropped off at the church office during the week.
