Bethany EC Church, 222 North St. holds Sunday worship Dec. 1, first Sunday of Advent, “Wonderful Counselor” at 10:45 a.m. with the Rev. Timothy Ream, pastor.

Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m. with classes for all ages; fellowship time 10:15-10:45 a.m.; preschool nursery available and Jr. Church provided for children in kindergarten through sixth grade.

Wednesday: Youth group, 6 p.m. at church, Prayer meeting, 7 p.m.

Saturday: Nov. 30, Hanging of the greens church decorating, 10 a.m.

Upcoming events:

• Dec. 8, second Sunday of Advent, “Mighty God,” guest speaker Ken Sears, missionary to Ukraine, 6 p.m., fourth annual Lehighton Christmas Trees in the Park Tree Lighting.

• Dec. 14, 9 a.m., Cookie day: Preparing and packing Christmas cookies.
