Bethany EC Church

Bethany EC Church, 222 North St. holds Sunday worship at 10:45 a.m. with the Rev. Timothy Ream, pastor.

Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m. with classes for all ages; fellowship time 10:15-10:45 a.m.; preschool nursery available and Jr. Church provided for children in kindergarten through sixth grade.

Crossroads Community Church

Crossroads Community Church, 580 Coal St., holds Sunday worship service with Pastor Kevin McGraw. It is a place for a fresh start with God.

St. John’s

St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Mahoning, 826 Mahoning Drive W.

Worship service: 9 a.m. Sunday, with Holy Communion and Blessing of the Animals. Bring your pet to church. During the worship they will receive individual blessings from our Pastor Blatt. If weather permits, we will worship at the pavilion. If weather disappoints, we will worship in the fellowship hall.

Sunday school: Sunday school will be the first and third Sunday of each month at 10:15 a.m.

Grief support: 6:30 p.m. Monday in the family room.

Trinity highlights

First Saturday worship with Holy Communion at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., is at 5 p.m. Sunday worship with Holy Communion begins at 9:30 a.m. Gluten-free wafers are available for those with allergy issues. The Rev. Nancy Moore presides. Vicar Joshua Krenz assists. Coffeehouse fellowship follows.

Sunday Church School for students ages 3 through sixth grade begins at 10:45 a.m.

Blessing of the Animals is Sunday at 12:30 p.m. in the church parking lot. Please have your pets leashed or crated, and be prepared to clean up after your pet. The ceremony coincides with the remembrance of St. Francis of Assisi, for his love of all creatures.

Students in grades 5-12 are invited to participate in food, conversation and youth group activities from 5-7 p.m. Sunday at the second floor youth room. October’s schedule includes the first three Sundays at 5 p.m. Vicar Joshua Krenz is the youth adviser.

Members of Trinity will be participating in the CROP Walk at Lehigh Canal Park, in Weissport, on Oct. 13. Registration is at 1 p.m., and the walk starts at 2 p.m. The course is 1-4 miles. Contact the church office for more information on registration. Each walker needs a sponsorship envelope to secure donations. Form a team family, friends, co-workers; open to anyone in the community. This is a great opportunity to walk your dog. Pledges of money received benefits Trinity Food Pantry (25%), and Church World Services (75%) for relief and development programs. Last-minute walk-ins are welcome to participate.

For those desiring to arrange a baptismal date, Pastor Moore will share information at 1 p.m. Oct. 20. Appointments are available for those desiring to seek membership at Trinity. Please contact the church office in advance at 610-377-4303 to register.
